36 weeks... and counting

We had our 36 week check up this week. They measured the little man and they are estimating he is at about 6lbs 12oz already. Gaining about 1/4lb each week, the nurse thinks he will be about 7 1/2 pounds. But he is healthy and his lungs are strong and he even has a little bit of hair on his little head. HAHA! His mamas boy already. Eric was bald and was a little toe head as a boy, and I was born with a full head of thick dark curls. My mom said they put a little bow in my hair before the nurses brought me into her recovery room. She tried to send me back thinking I couldn't be hers, since all her other babies were bald. Nice try mom, but arent you glad you didnt send me back? :) Doc says I am really close to ready for this baby to come out so we went ahead and scheduled an appointment to be enduced on December 26th. So if Brayden doesnt decide to show up by then, plan on coming to visit us and meet our new pride n joy that weekend! We are on the edge of our seats waiting for the 26th now. I have been having A LOT of contractions and the pressure is insane. I hate feeling like I always have to pee. haha Now we are just trying to stay busy to keep me from getting too anxious. Our next appt is Monday so I will let ya'll know how it goes! Only 16 more days....

A Long Day!

For me, another day at work... For Eric, a little gimpse into fatherhood! We took up the responsibility of taking Logan, Erics little brother for the day. Logan is 17 months old and such a handful! The kid is busy busy busy. He hates being held, so all he wants to do is get down and run! Such a boy. We picked him up about 9am at Eric's dads house and went to the petting zoo in san juan capistrano. Cute little place for kids of all ages. They have goats, pigs, ostrich, bunnies, guinnea pigs, a cow, horses, and even a lama (so ugly, but I still wanted to take him home)! Logan had no fears. He went right in and fed the bunnies and guinnea pigs. I picked one up and put him on my lap so he could pet him. It was so precious. He was really gentle with them, I was shocked. I think his favorite was looking at the big white ducks, every time we would walk away, he would run back over to talk to them. They would squak and he would scream back at them. I have no idea what he thought they were talking about but it was pretty funny. Eric took him in to see the goats, but I hung back and fed them from the outside because those things jump and they get rowdy. Eric put Logan up on a platform where a goat was laying down and he just pet him and talked to him and the goat didn't even flinch. Eric and I were a little nervous but Logan seemed to know what he was doing. Overall, we had a great day with him and he was a very good boy. He ran hard and I am sure he didn'y argue with his parents when it came time for bed. He was exhausted! Tell ya the truth, I think we were more tired than he was. We picked up San Giovanni's, went home and ate, and were in bed to watch the Lakers game at 7:30. We each took some Tylenol and were asleep by 9. We got 16 more days til we have some countless sleepless nights, so we might as well get some sleep in now while we still can...right?

good friends, good wine, good times...Wii tournament

This is what our Friday nights have come down to! haha Roger and Amy Beth came over for dinner on Friday night and we had a blast! Dinner was amazing... bbq'd shrimp, scallops, and veggies and I made some Rice chile that was so yummy. Between the 3 of them and a little bit of my help, we polished off almost 4 bottles of wine and a bottle of Rumple Minze. We sat around for a little bit and Bullshitted, then we turned on Wii and it was GAME TIME! We played bowling for hours and the girls won every time of course. Amy was killing at it, with the least effort. I have been practicing for over a week and she did better than me. Must have been begginers luck! They topped off the night with some hot totties (apple cider and rum) and we watched a movie. Eric passed out early as usual without saying goodnight to anyone and Amy & Roger spent the night in our living room. Friends don't let Friends drink and drive. haha We have found that staying at home with some good friends, good food, some drinks and of course Wii is a lot more fun these days than hitting the bars and having to cab it home. It is quite economical too! :)

Jenn made the cutest diaper cakes!

So...Amy made her impression again! She coordinated the most magnificent baby shower I have ever been to in my entire life! It happened to be my own. Between all my sisters, my Mom Jenn, and Leighanne, this day turned out to be more than I had dreamed. There were about 50 guests that showed up that I didn't even know what to do with myself. The second I started talking to someone, I had to turn around to say hello to another friend or family member. I was so excited. The games that we did play were fun. Not lame at all! We had a Celebrity Baby Game where ya had to guess which celebrity baby was which. We also had a clothespin game, that you could not say the words 'Baby, Boy, or Brayden' or ya get your pin stolen (it got funny). The guessing of the jelly belly baby bottle and a diaper raffle too! The diaper raffle was a complete success! We have got more diapers than I think we will even use. They are being stored by the box and bag full in the garage! Most everyone decorated a onesie, which turned out to be so stinkin cute! I can't beleive the how many gifts we received for Brayden ~ it was insane! After such a long day though, Eric and I only had the strength to carry them up to the second floor of our house. They never made it to the 3rd story to Braydens room. So when I came downstairs on Monday morning I exclaimed, "Eric, Santa came!" It was like Christmas when your 5 years old, but better! Amy came over and we spent about 3 hours just sorting out the gifts. Between sizes of clothes, duplicates that needed to be returned to stores, and all the little goodies we got, we thought we would never reach the end. But we eventually did and I am happy to say that his room is almost complete! Teh pictures are hung, the bed is made, and the closet is close to organized. Now, I am finishing up thank you cards and hopefully get them out tomorrow. We will see... All together, the whole thing was amazing! Thank you Amy, Mom, Teresa, Brandi, Jenny, Kylee, Jenn, and Leighanne, and EVERYONE who came!

The Cake... it had babies too (petifores were amazing!)

A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

Monday turned out great! Amy met Eric and I at Shaw's Cove in Laguna Beach for a photo shoot. It was awesome. Amy did a better job than I could have asked for! The sunset was perfect, the lighting was just right, and we all got quite a few laughs out of it. Amy caught the best of us, and the giant belly! Eric and I are in love with the pictures and they are already up in every room of the house. Soon, we can replace those ones with the real baby pictures. Can't wait for Amy to capture our new pride and joy with that magical lens of hers.
